Char Siu Bao - Nam Loong
February 26th, 2007Yesterday I went to a little eatery on Russell street call Nam Loong. I’ve been going there as long as I remember for their Char Siu Bao - Chinese Steamed Pork Buns. These things really are just brilliant. $1.50 each to take away. I’ve never bought anything else. I usually buy three, which is to much. Remind me to only get two next time. It’s a really great stretch of street along there, and I enjoyed a stroll while eating.
When i was purchasing my buns, i noticed they had a few of those golden/plastic cats with waving hands on the counter. Our friend Caz, gave us one that is now sitting in the kitchen. It’s a bit crazy, scares me a bit … just keeps on waving … and waving …

Just doing a backlog read of your site noodles and it seems we have something in common. A chick called Caz house sat for me and my girlfriend a while back and when we returned it was to a golden cat sitting on the bookshelf waving madly at us. Having the cat munch through a double A batter once a month is probably not doing much for our carbon emission targets but since we don’t have any pets it’s a friendly face to come home to.

I never realised it had a battery, I thought it was some strange kentic energy kinda thing. I just went and turned it over, and I have a whole new weird feeling for it.

Yeah doesn’t look good does it. I did mean to write a post about it but didn’t. Will that stop me from eating Char Siu Bao from there. I’m not sure. Probably. Thanks for the comment.
