captain noodle
August 19th, 2007Recently, I stopped in at Thu The with a friend. A scrap of paper sticky-taped to the wall advertised Hanoi Style Pho. Had to have it, and it was great. But to tell you the truth I couldn’t tell you the difference between this and regular pho.
I’ll have to have them side by side one day.

I want to noodle around in Melbourne too… Australia in general. I was complaining about wanting a “particular dish” made by that “particular restaurant” the other night… sadly it is in Sydney.
I love your illustration by the way… it is the colours and the textures… lovely.

You asked me about Vietnamese in France and well, Baaa, No!
The Asians have bent their will to the French taste and everything can be a little stewed, and well, expensive. It is kind of sad, and considering how much Asian I like to eat (and how accessible it is in Australia, and cheap) cooking it yourself is just not the same! Boo hoo!
(thanks for your comment on my blog by the way).

I wonder what Hanoi style Pho is meant to taste like? Great illustrations.. they just blow me away! Also.. re: an earlier post, I thought it was funny that you wanted to move to Footscray (but it would take some spouse-convincing!) Hehe -Maria
